This has been broken now for a while, unable to get it to install the previous version. Wanting this to be fixed. Curious how are others using this tool for their SQL Databases now?

why is this not getting fixed?
This is came about due to Microsoft changing their "Microsoft.Data.SqlClient" which is used for connecting. We had been waiting on Microsoft to resolve this and then allow us to inherit the fix. I believe we have a fix coming next week

That is great to hear, i look forward to trying it out. Thanks for the follow up!
My curiosity is how SQL Compare is still working and its connections do not fail? Is it already using the newer component and Source Control using the older one?
SQL Compare was able to run the latest version of the Microsoft SQL Data Client, but I believe some of our other tools used dlls that weren't compatible so we had to do some extra work to allow the SQL Compare engine to go into those tools and be compatible for SSMS 19

I appreciate the follow up.
I was not able to get the older version installed, so i am stalled waiting day by day for this fix. I understand that this would require a little effort but looking at some of the other forum entries this has been a problem for a long time. I am really looking for a solution, Thanks.
If you uninstall the current version you have, then proceed to install the following version it will work: https://download.red-gate.com/checkforupdates/SQLSourceControl/SQLSourceControl_7.3.36.16024.exe

I am still getting a failure. I have checked Help>About to make sure that i am running the intended version from above.
Setup tab is failing with: "SQL Source Control can't access this database."
Commit tab is diff and now failing with Redgate error: "ActiveDirectoryInteractive authentication method is not supported."
So, i am still stuck. Did the uninstall not remove something / did the install not install something?
Ah, SQL Source Control doesn't support Azure MFA, if you wish to use this auth method you will need to switch to Flyway Desktop: https://documentation.red-gate.com/soc/requirements-and-supported-systems

I am familiar with SQL Source Control, and it was working great until this connection bug arose. How do I go back to the working solution? I do not want to move to a new product that works differently. We may consider this in the future.
Thank you for your patience on this issue, we now have a release which contains the latest SQL Compare engine and this should resolve the issue you was experiencing!
Are you able to patch into v7.5.4 at your earliest convenience and confirm if this issue has been resolved.
