Controlling Performance Profiling via an API
I am reposting this question because the previous response was only relevant to the Memory Profiler, but I am using the Performance Profiler: To help me focus on important code, I would like to turn profiling on and off with an API (from C#). Is this available? Google finds documentation for ANTS v3… -
Cross-database coding?
We have a multi-database system and one thing that both PromptSQL and SQLPrompt 2 seemed to support was loading up the other database objects as needed. Was this lost in SQL Prompt 3? e.g. if I wanted to query Northwind objects from master, when I started typing: select * from North - I would have Northwind appear, then… -
Re: Downgrade to SQL Monitor 2.3
The main problem with downgrading to version 2.3 is that the data repository schema has changed massively for v3 (mainly to accommodate the custom metric functionality). This means that to use v2.3 you would need to create a brand new database with the old schema, therefore losing access to any data you have in the current… -
Edit Multiple Items?
Hello - I'm working with v3 extensively for the first time today. In v2, you were able to make edits to multiple fields via a popup dialog box. This allowed for the save operation to be issued just once for multiple fields (I have about 60-70 to document). In this version, I have to save every field one by one, which is… -
sugestions
Discussion by Brian Donahue · · Home› Discontinued and Previous Versions› SQL Data Compare Previous VersionsHi Pedro, Thanks for your comments. Yes, it is much faster than before! 1. Good suggestion for the GUI. 2. I'm not sure what you mean. Data Compare already re-compares databases after you synchronize them. Thanks, Brian Donahue Red Gate Support "Pedro Rocha" <inspeaut@esoterica.pt> wrote in message… -

Redgate SCA Devops build pipeline cannot overwrite the nuget package - build fails
We recently had to change out build pipeline from using LocalDB to a full SQL instance (using full text searching so need full DB to build). Since we changed the pipeline configuration, we cannot get a second build to succeed without manually removing the output nupkg from the build agent. We are using self-hosted agents,… -
Missing Option for Options
I have been using an older version of SQL Prompt for a long time and decided to check out the trial version of v3 to see if it was advantageous to put in a request to purchase an upgrade. I'm happy with the prompter and I certainly see the benefits of upgrading; however, where do you adjust the options? In the old version… -
Re: SQL Monitor Archive - NOT PURGE; Wheres The Feature
Thanks for your reply. With the backend being a database, there's nothing to stop you from looking at the tables and running count queries based on alert time to ascertain how many alerts you had during a given period. We don't however provide schematics of the schema though I'm afraid as it's subject to change with each… -
Re: Idea: Generate from column
Comment by Brian Donahue · · Home› Discontinued and Previous Versions› SQL Data Generator Previous VersionsHi Dan, This should be possible in the next data generator release (v3?). It's been a very popular suggestion to base data in one column from another generated column. For this you will be able to use a CSV of existing data or a Python script for data manipulation. Version 2 introduced Python scripts for manipulating…
