Regression issue after deploying 14.0.44 from 14.0.42

I skipped 14.0.43, so the problem could have been introduced in 14.0.43 or 14.0.44.

In the Server Overview Page Top processes and top blocking is returning an error.

  • Hi Don,

This error is usually observed when the Top Queries Search indexes get corrupted.

    1. Stop the Redgate Monitor Base Monitor service.
    2. Delete the TopQueries Search folder. This would be typically be at  C:\ProgramData\Red Gate\Redgate Monitor\SearchEngine\SqlQueries
    3. Restart the Base Monitor Service
    4. Once the folder is deleted, the indexes will rebuild correctly and the errors would no longer be observed.
Note: Deleting the indexes will not impact any of the Top Queries. It will only impact the Top Query Search function until these indexes get rebuilt.

Please let us know if this helps.

This error happens if there is blocking data to display within the time window.  I doubt that's the issue, because this problem manifested itself on all base monitors after applying the upgrade.  And doesn't the query folder have more to do with collecting queries from procedure cache as opposed to active processes?

Anyway as stated in another thread this is reproducible in your live DEMO, so please fix it there and provide an update that addresses the issue.
  • Thank you Don for the help with reproducing the issue.
We are looking into this now and will let you know once there are further updates.
