Bug Found

Noticing a bug when doing a schema compare with external tables location exemption set on.  The tables are shown as equal to another schema even if there is a difference some where else in the table.  Example, between two schemas for an external table, one schema was missing a line of code to skip 1 record.  Turning off the external tables location exemption and re-running the comparison, this difference was shown in the report.

    Hi @william,

This appears to be a known issue with internal reference OC-841 where it is ignoring other parts of the external table when the location is being ignored.

I have added a reference to your post here and will update here when I have further information on a possible fix for the issue.

    Kind regards,
    Alex

    Hi @william,

Thank you for your patience with this.

Unfortunately the developers have reviewed the bug and it doesn’t look likely that it’s going to be fixed at this time. This doesn't mean that this bug will remain unfixed: the associated bug report remains open.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Kind regards,
    Alex
