Latest DLM Automation Suite News - February 2016
What's new in the DLM Automation Suite since our last update?
Simplified installation
SQL CI and SQL Release are now both installed as part of the DLM Automation Suite, so you no longer need to run separate installation processes.
New environment variable
To make it easier to maintain references to tools, we've created a new environment variable. Use %DLMAS_HOME% whenever you need to reference the DLM Automation Suite tool executables.
Simplified activation
We've simplified the way you activate your DLM Automation Suite license. You can now use the DLM Automation Suite app to activate the suite and all the tools. For more information, see http://documentation.red-gate.com/displ ... Activating.
New add-ons page
To make the DLM Automation Suite app simpler, and so you only download the add-on you need, we’ve removed the TeamCity and TFS plugins from the suite and moved them to a new add-ons page (http://www.red-gate.com/products/dlm/dl ... ons-simple). Here you’ll also find plugins for Jenkins, Bamboo and Visual Studio Team Services and the Octopus Deploy step templates.
Improved SQL CI integration with DLM Dashboard
Databases built by SQL CI show up as recognized schemas in DLM Dashboard and are now also labelled with the SQL CI icon.
Include database documentation in the SQL CI build output
SQL CI can now include SQL Doc database documentation in the NuGet package that it builds. Use the /includeDocs switch in the Build command if you want to do this. For more information, see Using the build command (http://documentation.red-gate.com/displ ... ncludeDocs). This feature is also available via the TeamCity and TFS Build plugins, and the TFS MSBuild scripts.
SQL Doc integration with DLM Dashboard
If you're integrating DLM Dashboard with SQL CI, you can now view SQL Doc database documentation in DLM Dashboard.

Choose how SQL CI and SQL Release determine compatibility level
By default SQL CI and SQL Release use the database's compatibility level to detect supported features. If you prefer, you can now get them to use server information to determine the compatibility level.
Renamed cmdlets in SQL Release
To make the SQL Release cmdlet names easier to find, we’ve added the prefix, Dlm. For more information, see Cmdlet reference http://documentation.red-gate.com/displ ... +reference. The old names for the cmdlets are still valid.
Improved error messages in SQL Release
We’ve added more details to some common error messages. For example, when failing to connect to a database, the message now includes the full connection string.
