Sorry, new post as the Search isnt working ... ?

I am trying to start SQL Backup for the second time today and get a small popup message advising me:

"There is already a copy of SQL Backup running on this computer"

Is it possible to get around this without killing the RedGate.SQLBackup.UI.exe process via Task Manager?

cheers

  • Hi fatherjack,

Could you please try the following :

Close the SQL backup GUI. Kill the process if necessary.

    Navigate to %:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Red Gate\SQL Backup\Server Data

    Delete the contents.

    Open the SQL Backup GUI.

Use the SQL Backup GUI as normal and see if you still encounter the problem when closing.

    Thanks,

  • Just stopping the process gets the application working again.

I have removed the files as you mention.

The error message and the application starts up cleanly each time now - tested 3 times.

for Vista users, the file location above is ...
    %:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Red Gate\SQL Backup\Server Data

  • Hi,

I am a little confused by your line :

The error message and the application starts up cleanly each time now - tested 3 times.

Are you still encountering the error message or is the GUI starting cleanly?

    Thanks,
