Backups failing - Help

backups starting failing this moring. The error in the sql log is as follows:

BackupVirtualDeviceSet::Initialize: EndConfiguration failure on backup device 'SQLBACKUP_7EA5351C-5317-4582-B173-356898B30AE0'. Operating system error 0x80070008(Not enough storage is available to process this command.).

Hi Toeho,

It looks as though the memory on your SQL Server is severely fragmented and no large enough continuous blocks of memory are available to complete the backup request.

Unfortunately even when using our lowest block size there is still not a large enough block of continuous memory.

In this case you will most likely need a restart of your SQL Server to get SQL Backups running again.
