Timeout When Changing Options

We are running SQLBackup version 4.2.0.425 on a two node Windows 2003 SP1 cluster with SQL Server 2005. When I make any change to the Options and press save, after a couple of minutes I get a "The application seems to be frozen." message. As far as I know everything else is working as it is supposed to. Any suggestions on where to look for the problem?

Does this happen regardless of where you change the options from? Try copying the GUI to another workstation and connect to the server to change it's settings. The GUI does not need a license to run. Thanks.

  • The GUI is currently installed on the server. I'll try installing it on a workstation and see if that makes any difference.

    Hello Dale,

Last time I had this problem, it was just a matter of giving permissions to the SQL Server service account to write to the registry (HKLM\Software\Red Gate\SQL Backup). Hope this helps!
  • Thank you Brian, that did the trick. Everything is working as I expect it to work.
