SQL Search 2 Missing Dropdown List Contents

Every search returns no results. The dropdown lists to the right of the Exact Match checkbox are disabled with no items loaded.

I have tried to repair and uninstall/install but nothing has resolved this issue.

My setup is:
Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 10.50.2861.0
Microsoft Analysis Services Client Tools 10.50.2861.0
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 6.1.7601.17514
Microsoft MSXML 3.0 4.0 5.0 6.0
Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.10.9200.16866

    Hi, this usually occurs when SSMS is not connected to a database engine. Could you confirm that the Object Explorer shows you are connected? Could you also check that your set up meets the requirements.

    I am connected to a local instance and a remote instance.

    The local and remote instances are SQL Server Standard 2008 R2 SP1.
    SSMS is 2008 RS and OS is Windows 7.

    SQL Search 1 was working. I uninstalled it and later decided to reinstall. I couldn't find version one and version 2 is not working.
