changed alert email address, also turned all alerts ON

So, I just tried to change the alert notification email address for a single server. I selected "ALL" for the alerts, changed the email address and then saved.  That had the unintended side effect of turning ON a bunch of alerts that were OFF.  My coworker just got >500 emails.  Now I owe him lunch and my first born.  Is there an easier way to say, "For this server (or group), send all notifications to a different email address"?

    Hello Peter,
Thanks for your inquiry with SQL Monitor.
It should be possible to have the alert settings, including what email address the alert email is sent to, be set at the Server/Group Instance and not apply to all monitored servers.

You can read how to do this from the following documentation piece:

Be sure to have the following option selected so that any changed settings only apply to the particular server selected:

Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

    Thanks!

I think you misunderstood.  I know it is settable at the "customize for this level..." - that's what I used.  The issue is that it turned notifications on for ALL alerts - not just ones that were previously set to notify.
