I have assisted a customer in setting up SQL Monitor 5.0 and when we add a cluster name to the monitored servers, it connects fine to the hosts (nodes) but cannot seem to locate the SQL instances. Below is the error we are getting and yes the account has sysadmin permissions within the SQL instances. Has anyone seen this error before? I was successfully able to connect to the SQL instance from the monitoring host using a .udl file as a test.
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible.
Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections.
(provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.)
