Query Store and Monitor not aligned

Overnight Azure database hit 90%+ cpu regularly for several hours.
Monitor reports and alerts on the excessive cpu
But I can't find a query that would be culprit

Looked in Query Store and there are two queries during the period which stand out head and shoulders over everything else.. One query had average cpu 90,000 ms, total 26million ms

But I can't find those queries in Monitor.

What would be the cause? Developers not impressed that Monitor can't tell them the query causing the issue but had to go back to query Store to find the answer

  • Hi @postldm,

My apologies for the delayed response on this post and for the issues you've seen.

It seems another customer has reported very similar behaviour. Our development team merged a fix for query inconsistencies against the Query Store on Monday, this will be available in 13.0.35 which I'm hoping will be released in the next couple days. As soon as this release is made available, I'll endeavour to let you know here so that you can try this update and advise if you believe the issue persists.
    Kind regards
