Options>Special Characters>Remove duplicate closing characters as you type

I have this option checked and it won't swallow or remove the closing characters. This function does work occasionally, but I am not sure why there is inconsistencies in it working. Any insight would be helpful - I am running the latest version of SQL Prompt on SSMS v20

Thank you for reaching out on the Redgate forums for your SQL Prompt formatting query.

I've had a test with this functionality in a couple of my SSMS environments and found the following behaviour to be true.

The 'Remove duplicate closing characters as you type' appears to trigger on characters that you have enabled to automatically insert when typing.

Can I check if you have any/all of these characters enabled and if the auto-remove of duplicates is working for the enabled ones?

If not, can you share an export of your SQL Prompt settings (SQL Prompt > Options > Export...) and we can look further

I have generated a secure file link to provide any files against - it will be valid for 14 days
