Is it possible to pre-filter in SQL Compare?

Hi,

I want to know if it is possible to pre-filter some objects before comparison in order to make it faster.
I have seen that this feature is included in "Schema Compare for Oracle 5".

When you have hundreds of objects and you only want to compare few, it takes a long time to compare and after that you can filter.

Thanks and regards.

No, this isn't an option in SQL Compare. Out of interest, how many objects do you have and how long does a comparison take for you today?

    Hi David,

First of all, thank you for fast answer!

We have around 3500 objects, and it takes around 2 minutes. However, we need to compare with around 20 servers.

It would be great if we could filter the needed objects before comparison as it is made in SQL Data Compare, it would be much faster.

    Regards.

If you have SQL Compare Pro, which includes a command line, you might want to consider automating this task, for example setting of multiple instances of sqlcompare.exe in parallel to generate comparison reports, if this is the output you seek.

Yes, we have it, and we are working on it. But we wanted to do it as faster as possible, and pre-filtering only some objects is a good option.
