SQL prompt does not works after upgraded to SQLPrompt10

MauroMauro Posts: 1 New member
HI All,
I upgraded the SSMS to version 19.1 and then upgraded my red-gate programs to latest version.
After this, when I run SSMS I get an error message:

"Unable to find an entry point named 'SetThreadDpiAwarenessContext' in DLL 'user32.dll'."

and SQLPrompt does not works, while other components of the red-gate subscription seems to work correctly.

Any suggestion on how to solve?
thank you

Mauro

  • Hi @Mauro

Thank you for reaching out on the Redgate forums regarding this error

We have been seeing this issue with multiple users and the development team is currently looking into it. Therefore, at the moment, I do not have a specific fix for this, but some users have reported that a clean uninstall and re-install is fixing the issue.

Can you please uninstall SQL Prompt (make sure to take a backup of the SQL Prompt 10 folder). You may even need to check the registry and delete any leftover files from there as well. Some common locations:
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Red Gate\SQL Prompt 10
    • %LOCALAPPDATA%\Red Gate\SQL Prompt 10
    • \HKEYCURRENTUSER\Software\Red Gate\SQL Prompt 10

Try removing any remnant from there, restarting your computer and then re-installing SQL Prompt once more.

Let me know if it helps to get past that error at all.

FWIW, I just had this happen on 18.8. Trying the same solution.
