Support of Postgres on Azure?

Hi,
Do you have plans to support Postgres on Azure? Would really like to see this supported soon.

Thanks,
Sanjiv

  • Hi @sjivan

We do plan to support it, but it's at least a few months out. It's likely that when we do, at least initially, it'll be by allowing some kind of "instance-only" monitoring but without bringing in extra environment info from Azure's API (like we do with RDS), though plans aren't concrete at this point.
    Kind regards

  • Hi @sjivan

It's looking like next year now. We're really keen we focus for a while on deepening what we have and proving real traction there, then spreading out to other platforms.
    Kind regards

Any updates or ETA for this?
  • Hi @sjivan

It's definitely coming this year but we still don't have an ETA yet.

Pretty interested in RedGate + PostgreSQL on Azure flexible server for some time now here also.

Any news? Large enterprise user of RedGate for huge number of existing MSSQL workloads, who likes one stop shops & not wanting to but well into looking at alternate solutions...

    Hello Redgate,

On top of PostgreSQL on Azure flexible server, are there any plans to support "Cosmos DB for Postgresql" as well? (distributed database)

    Thanks,
    Charles

    Hi all,

Edit: apologies completely missed a bit of your comment

"PostgreSQL on Azure flexible server" is currently being worked on and looks like it should be available this quarter (Q3).  I'll update here when I have any further information on this.

Regarding "Cosmos DB for Postgresql" this is not currently planned I'm afraid.

    Kind regards,
    Alex

    Hi all,

Just wanted to update again, as you have likely noticed it is no longer Q3 and the "PostgreSQL on Azure flexible server" is not out yet.  This is still being worked on should be out this quarter (Q4 2024) barring any other delays or complications.

I will update again when there is a release available or I get more information from the team.

    Kind regards,
