Is there a way to exclude tables while compare is registering its source/target?

I know how to use the exclude filters once the entire schema has been read - prob is that we have potentially 1000s of tables that live for a certain amount of time. It takes about 15 minutes to process all of these when reading schema.

Thanks for reaching out to us regarding this!

Unfortunately it isn't currently possible to exclude objects from the comparison process, only after the comparison has completed is it possible to include/exclude/filter certain objects for deployment.

SQL Compare first needs to 'look' at everything within the databases being compared so that it can serve up the list of objects for selection for deployment.

It may be worth reviewing the following help article which outlines how you might be able to speed up the comparison process by disabling "Decrypt encrypted objects": https://documentation.red-gate.com/sc/troubleshooting/common-issues/comparison-seems-slow

    I hope this helps!
    Kind regards
