Install Server Components -> Denied Administrator Access

I am installing the server components on a Windows server 2008r2 with SQL Server Standard edition (64 bit)  2008 R2.

The user account specified is a member of the local administrator group. I do not have access to a domain or the root administrator account.

I've also given them sysadmin on the SQL Server itself.

Are there group polices or user groups that can be used to give the user the proper rights?
