Flyway licensing for on-premise application deployment

I'm investigating Flyway for use managing the database upgrades of our application. The java API is easy to use but the licensing is what I'm struggling with. We have a single application with a single PostgreSQL schema but each of our customers deploy their own instance of the application and database on their own infrastructure. The Open Source license may be suitable but I wanted to know how the licensing could support this use case as we don't want to start using a product on a open source license only to find that it's prohibitively expensive if we look to upgrade to a paid subscription.
I can't find any information about how this case is supported with the paid licenses.

Thank you for reaching out.
The Flyway CLI used to be licensed per schema, it's now on a per user basis.
There's a fairly good breakdown here https://documentation.red-gate.com/fd/commercial-licensing-faq
Regarding the API usage you might get better mileage out for talking to sales@flywaydb.org directly and seeing what they can suggest.
