Compare the DB between MySQL 5.5 and MySQL 8.0

in MySQL Compare
Planning to migrate the database from MySQL 5.5 to MySQL 8.0 through multilayer upgrade , traditional CHECKSUM cannot be accurate as there are schema level changes in both versions ( eg: TIME, DATETIME, and TIMESTAMP) . Can "MySQL Compare" tool do a database comparison and provide result in this scenario ?
