Support for .winmd references

Hi, I have a solution that needs to reference the “Microsoft.Windows.SDK.Contracts” nuget package which ends up with a reference to a .winmd file (Windows.Foundation.FoundationContract.winmd). Sadly, neither SmartAssembly 7 or 8 appears to support those. Is there a known workaround to build applications with SmartAssembly referencing .winmd files? Do you plan on supporting them in the near future?

Thanks!

Thank you for reaching out on the Redgate forums regarding your SmartAssembly question.

Currently, there is no planned support for referencing winmd in obfuscated projects. The team's current workload is around supporting .NET 6.0.

This is something the team do want to include but they are having to prioritize it with other work.

Our UserVoice portal allows you to post feature requests you would like to see in Redgate products and is used by our development teams to help determine the direction our products head.

I would welcome you to post your request on the UserVoice site and it may see .winmd / UWP functionality added into SmartAssembly in future. Redgate UserVoice
