SQL Prompt not showing in Visual Studio

DavidGDavidG Posts: 1 New member
Hi,

SQL prompt works fine for me in SSMS but is not showing/working for me in Visual Studio.
I removed and reinstalled SQL Prompt based on suggestions I saw in other questions here but it still did not work.
I did select visual studio on the install also.

Here is the version I'm using.
Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools for Visual Studio 2017 version 15.9.37

SQL Prompt 10.6.16.21150

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
David

    Hi David,

Thank you for your post. What version of VS do you have installed?

Also just to be sure, SQL Prompt will only show in the extensions menu when a SQL Query is open.

I have been facing this issue for more than one year every time I install a new version of SQL Prompt.
For me it works when I install SQL Prompt, open VS, disable the AddIn in VS, reinstall SQL Prompt, open VC and enable the AddIn (if still disbaled) and finally restart VS. Sometimes I have to do the exercise several times but in the end it works...
