SQL backup Never completed

The sql backup was running for more than 48 hours and never completed. THe backup usually completes in 30 minutes on an average and the compression rate is set to 3. The database size is around 120GB. We just patched our production server with service pack 3 on SQL server 2005.
I am not sure if this has any impact on the red gate tool.
Please advice.

If you run the following on the server where the backup is running:

    EXEC master..sqbutility 9997

is there a file named SQBCoreService_bugreport.txt generated in the folder where the SQL Backup Agent service is installed? Can you send that file to me?

    If you run

    EXEC master..sqbstatus

are there any results returned? If there are, could you run the same command again, and let me know if the values have increased?

    Thanks.
