Problem with Comparison Keys

I'm comparing a SQL 2017 backup towards a SQL 2012 db.
The compare always displays "Ensure that comparions keys are set correctly".
The Comparison Key is set to [Custom] and a comparison field is choosen.
Strangly however, the comparison key is always reset to [Not Set] after a "Table&Views" refresh.
Any idea ?
