SQL Response Agent blocking SQLAgent Job Manager

Hi,

SQL Server 2005 Standard SP2

SQL Response is raising a "Blocked SQL Process" alert showing the "SQLAgent Job Manager" is being blocked by "Red Gate SQL Response". The blocking is lasting over 45 seconds.

Has anyone seen this alert before ? How can I resolve this ?

    Thank you for your post into the forum and sorry that this problem is occurring.

    We have created a new support call for you whose reference is F0019832.

    Can you please send to us a copy of your Alert Repository Log Files?

    Open the SQL Response Client ->Click on the SQL Response Ocon immediately above the File menu in the toolbar ->Select the option to Copy Alert Respoistory Log File....

    If you attach the log files to an e-mail and send the message to support@red-gate.com and place your call reference in the Subject field on the e-mail.

    We will take a look at the files you have provided and advise accordingly.

    Also if you could please provide further details regarding your SQL Server and how you have SQL Response configured?

    Operating System?
    CPU?
    RAM?
    Is the SQL response Alert Repository installed upon the same machine as the SQL Server being monitored?

    Hi

    Can you please check your system to see if you have a large amount of backup history in the msdb database?

    I suspect that the queries SQL Response runs for the 'No backup exists for database' or 'Full backup overdue' or 'Log backup over due' recommendations maybe trawlling through a lot of backup history.

    If you do have a lot of backup history, are you able to trim this infomation down?
