Recently we have started getting VDI Timeout errors on our servers

02/08/2019 01:27:30: VDI error 1010: Failed to get the configuration from the server because the timeout interval has elapsed. Check that the SQL Server instance is running, that you have the SQL Server System Administrator server role; and that no other processes are blocking the backup or restore process; or try increasing the value of the VDITimeout registry setting in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Red Gate\SQL Backup\BackupSettingsGlobal\[InstanceName]

    Hi @Prathibha ,

    Are there any SQL Server errors farther down in the log file?  Sometimes there is a VDI timeout due to another issue, otherwise, you'll just need to increase the timeout as described in the error.

    If you are able to share the full log please do or, as you are currently supported, I can reach out via a support ticket to retrieve them.

    Thank you Alex for the response. Yes, I checked the error logs and found some permission issues. Currently working on it.
