Hi Erik,
I'd expect there is a reason for this, as it would be no problem to implement IDisposable and save a few lines of code in the SQL Compare UI-driven version of the program.
I've asked the relevant people about it and will post an answer within a few days.

We are going to implement IDisposable on these two objects in a future Toolkit release.
