Installing SQL Prompt on a shared computer

If I install SQL Prompt onto a shared PC used for RDP, will it install the SQL Prompt plug in for all users? Or only my user?

I don't want it to install for all users if I am the only one that is going to use it. For example, I don't want 5 other people dealing with some trial version of SQL Prompt just because I wanted it set up for my account.

I tried stepping through the installer, but I didn't see anything regarding "Install for Current User" / "Install for All Users", like you see in some installers.

  • Hi Chad,

Yes, on a shared PC, if you install the SQL Prompt plugin it will be for all users.

Hopefully, this won't cause too much offence to the other users. It is likely to be visible in their SSMS but they will only be able to activate if they also hold a license like yourself.

I hope this helps answer your question!
    Kind regards
