Integration with Splunk

We use Splunk for most of our monitoring, but I like some of the features that I see with SQL monitor and the deployment integration.  Instead of using SQL monitor to send alerts, we'd like to make sure some of the key data is also able to be retrieved by Splunk.  Has anyone else attempted to integrate into another monitoring system?
