Hard drive space hogger

I have SQL server 2016 and have quite a few databases. all in all, my databases take up 9GB of space, which is fine. I've hooked them all up to SQL Source Control 5 and the Working Bases and Transients take up 25.8GB and 20GB respectively.... WTH. Is there any way to reduce this?

  • Hi Joe, this sounds very unusual  :\

    Here some questions:
    • Can you please provide a bit more details about how you linked it to SQL Source Control?
    • How many scripts files you have? What's their size?
    • Which tables have you linked using the static data feature?
    • Do you have CLR assemblies in your database?
    • What happens if you use SQL Source Control 6?
If you run a tool like WinDirStat or TreeSize what is taking the majority of the space in the working folder?

If you have a support contract and you prefer to get in contact with us via email, please do so and we can have a look at your issue more closely.

This is definitely not something I have seen before.
