Dear Team,
As a part of security fix on our environment we have to disable TLS 1.0 and SSL 3.0 and enable TLS 1.2 version. when we did so , SQL monitor were not able to collect the collections from our SQL server 2008 R2 SP2(version 10.50.4000) and the sql monitor version is 7.0.3.6980.
Can somebody help me with this problem? Is this the problem with SQL server as we are running with SP2 which is not supported for TLS 1.2 or something i must do with SQL Monitor upgradation?
At present we have rolled back to use TLS 1.0 , untill this issue is resolved we won't be able to proceed further.

thanks
Deepak

    Hi @Deepak

I think the first thing to do is to update to the latest version v8.0.5 released a week ago.  Version 7.0.3 is from over a year ago and there was a fix in 7.0.5 adding support for TLS 1.2 (release notes).  If you are only entitled to version 7 then you can get the last v7 (7.1.20) download here.

You may also need to configure your server that the SQL 2008 R2 instance is located on to use TLS 1.2 by default as well so they are using the same protocol to communicate.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Alex,
Thanks for your quick response on this. In our environment we have installed SQL Monitor on server1 but due to space and tape backup constraints , data repository for SQLmonitor runs on another machine different instance. Per your suggestion and we are entitled for latest version, we have installed version 8.0.6 on server1. After that we have disabled other protocol and enabled only TSL1.2 on server 1 due to which the SQL monitor is unable to connect to Base monitor and data repository database which is in different machine as said earlier . Please note the data repository instance doesn't have the SQL server update for TSL1.2 which MS has rolled out. Is it possible for SQL monitor - server1 which has only TSL1.2 enabled can connect to different server which doesn't have TSL1.2 enabled to store the data in data repository database?

    thanks
    Deepak
