Restore to different server

I'm struggling to restore a backup from our production server to our development server. I tried to follow the document / manual. 1 browse 2. add 3. type the location. ....but no matter what I type I can't see my backups. I have mapped the drive on the production server to the development server ,,, I have copied the files to a shared network location. I have copied the files to the development server all without success. We were about to purchase 3 more keys to accompany our original one but if we can't do this it is a problem. Can anyone help?
