Can I disable a Rebuild/Recovery script

I have added a simple [varbinary] (max) NULL to many tables for this release, but instead of a simple ALTER script being generated, SQL Compare is doing a Rebuild/Recovery process than creates a new table, INSERT INTO, DROP, and a rename.
Is there any way to disable this (and it just create a simple ALTER as I expected) ?
