SQL Server 2012 - Severe slow downs w/ object explorer

I am experiencing severe slow downs using object explorer GUI. Expanding/collapsing puts SSMS into deadlock for 30 seconds. I've narrowed it down to redgate software being the culprit. I have the following add-ins installed:

SQL Compare 12
SQL Data compare 12
SQL Prompt 9
SQL Test
SQL Search 2
SQL Source control 5

There any work-arounds for this? or possible features I can disable with the aforementioned add-ins ?

No answer for you but wanted to let you know you're not the only one. I've had these problem for a while in both SSMS 2012 and 2017. Obj explorer context menus take a long while to open - very frustrating. Eventually SSMS becomes unresponsive. I've resorted to disabling all add-ins. I have these problems on a fresh OS / SQL Server / Redgate install.

I have Doc, Prompt, Search, SourceControl; haven't bothered to enable 1 at a time to see which one is the offender.

    Hi @MattyIce and @keeena

Thanks for posting and sorry for the inconvenience caused.

We introduced a new feature which is called Code Analysis in SQL Prompt 9. This appeared to have caused some performance issue in early versions. We have fixed it and please upgrade to the latest version and let us know if problem persists.

It could also be SQL Source Control. Please have a read of this article which may help.
    Kind regards
