Connecting to a SQL 2008 server after a 2005 to 2008 upgrade

Hi there,
We upgraded from SQL 2005 to 2008. Using SQLBackup 5.4, I'm unable to connect to the server in the GUI after the upgrade (it was an in-place upgrade) -- It just has a red x on the connection -- I'm using NT auth to connect and I know its valid since I can get there through Management Studio, etc... I've also tried connecting as SA, but no luck...
any ideas?

If you click the Red X, it should display additional information.
What is being displayed?

Please look for a file named SQBServerSetup.exe in your GUI installation directory and copy it over to your SQL Server.
Run this file on your SQL Server to install the Server Components. If successful the GUI should be able to connect correctly.
If the installation is unsuccessful, what error message do you receive?
