in SQL Prompt
Hi Redgate Team,
since the last SQL Prompt update to version 9 I experience a massive CPU utilization after a while.
I encountered the problem on two different machines.
The CPU consumption of SSMS and VS becomes 100% and forces me to restart my machine.
My personal observation is, that this seems to be caused by the new code rule analysis and this it true in SSMS as well as VS.
Can you please check what the reason is, but do not concentrate on the code rules only cause this is just my guess.
Thanks a lot!

I'm about to post ANOTHER big bug re the new SMELLY CODE SMELLS feature...
SQL Prompt Log File for typical day available - no ERROR Messages or Exceptions are associated with this 100% CPU eating behavior.
Decide wisely...
I guess there is a dependeny between setting the CPU on fire and enabling Code Rules...
Do you recall how long it was before the CPU usage became a problem ?
Also, anything else you can say about what you were doing would be very helpful (approx size of open script, constant script changes, etc).
Thank you
Thanks!
SSMS: 17.3
If you notice any exceptions, or anything in the log files, please upload them here as well.
I've created SP-6734 to track this internally and we'll let you know when we find a fix for the issue.
Same here! Time, code lines, tabs differs.
