Unable to start regate Client service --

All the tools are not working as this service need to verify the license

    I'm getting a similar issue.

    15:00:58.016|ERROR |dlingLicenseProvider|1 |Error contacting licensing server. Defaulting to not licensed.
    RedGate.Client.ActivationPlugin.Shared.LicensingException: Could not connect to the Redgate Client Service ---> System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException: Could not connect to net.tcp://127.0.0.1:22222/activationplugin/. The connection attempt lasted for a time span of 00:00:01.0051367. TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:22222. ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:22222

    I'm currently trying to update to v6 to see if that sorts it

    Thanks for getting in touch.

    The following steps should resolve this issue for anybody who has come across this:

    • Close any Redgate Products
    • Stop the service named 'Redgate Client'
    • Delete the contents of the following folder %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Common Files\Red Gate\Shared Client
    • Navigate to Programs and Features and run a repair on one of your installed Redgate products.
    • Reopen the Redgate product (the service should restart automatically but if not you may need to start it manually).

    I hope these steps are helpful in helping you to get around this.

    I am using Windows 2007 machine.
    Suddenly redgate stopped working and when i open the app, i am getting error. (till last moth it worked fine)
    Error: "Unable to connect to redgate client service"
    I tried starting Redgate service from Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Services .. But no luck. getting timeout error. "The service did not respond to request in timely fashion"
    I can see some issue with RedGate.Ipc in the latest log

    Log: "ERROR RedGate.Client.Service - Failed to start service: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'RedGate.Ipc, Version=0.11.0.108, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=7f465a1c156d4d57' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."
