Extended events - could it be possible to enable per server?

The new deadlock feature is great - but we have a few older boxes (pre- SQL 2012 SP1 CU6 and pre- SQL 2008 R2 SP2 CU12) that are running into this issue (KB 2878139).

To get around this it would be awesome if we could enable the feature per-server, since some of our boxes will not be getting upgraded past SQL 2008 for at least a year or two.

I suspect that the answer to this will be to patch your SQL servers, but I can understand why you might want this. I'd suggest posting this over on the SQL Monitor Uservoice as we use this for prioritising future work.
