Submitting the error report direct from the application, the error report submitted updates the Bug Tracking system directly. The Product Support Team are most likely unaware that a user / customer has submitted a report unless they are informed about it and deliberately search for it.
Repeat the steps that generate the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object". When the error occurs, locate the current log file and attach a copy to an email message.
