Compare data on different networks.

Hi,
Sorry if this question has been asked before / i'm asking this in the wrong place.
I'm trying to figure out how I can compare a database on a separate network (accessed via VPN / remote connection and all sorts of security and political red tape to make the job difficult).
Ideally I would do the compare on the site by coping over the database I want to compare against without installing any applications if that's feasible.
Is the command line capable of doIng this? / an I missing any tricks?
Thanks

this is how SQL Data Compare could work. Both the same and different networks (two SQL Server instances). The command line, is the application itself. So you need to setup at least in one place the tool.
hope this helps,
