We just received Sql Compare 7.1 and we are also in the the process of moving to 64-bit Sql 2005 servers.

Two questions -

1. Can I use the executable to install your software on either a 32-bit or 64-bit windows operating system?
2. In one of your knowledge articles, you recommend that customers contact Support to get a fix for Sql Compare errors when comparing with a 64-bit Sql 2005 system. Can we go ahead and get this fix? This is the error that is listed in the KB article:
Index was outside the bounds of the array error when registering databases X64

Thanks!

  • Hi,

To answer your first question, you can indeed install SQL Compare from the individual SQL Compare installer or the SQL Toolbelt installer on either a 32 or 64 bit system.

I have e-mailed you a link to the patch requested.

    Thanks,
