Hi,
I have had two alerts for High CPU utilisation but both instances are on the same hardware. they were at the same time. Does this mean that both instances were busy or will they always report the high CPU as its a shared resource?
we are 2x SQL 2005 64bit on a pair of dual core processors...
thanks

The CPU usage is a shared resource so both instances should raise the alert.
You could take a look at the System Processes section for the alert to see which processes are taking up a lot of CPU time.
I hope this helps,

I just needed confirmation that if the CPU usage goes high then it would alert in both monitored instances. That means I only need to investigate it once..!
