Ok, so I've learned to live with the fact that a backup software needs admin rights to the server, but why do I have to make it a administrator of the local server? Why? Why? Everything I've tried as far as user rights still gets me the VDI 1000 error about querying service rights. Oh, and using sqbsetlogin to use a sql login doesn't work either. All I get is failed to SQL Server instance even though that account is sysadmin of the instance. I guess what I have to do is just succumb to using elevated permissions perform a lousey backup unless someone has a freakin clue how to make this work.

Maybe I'm not asking a question. It's possible I'm just complaining about having to give admin rights to an account on the instance and the server just to perform a backup. I didn't really believe anyone was listening.
Oh, and thanks for your non answer of my non question.
