SQL Backup License not recognizing that instances are all one one server

I have multiple SQL Server instances on one server( a,b,c). All of which were successfully sharing a SQL Backup License.
I recently removed my default instance (a) and replaced it with another named instance(d).
I activated the license on the new named instance(d), to remove the trial version.
Within a few minutes, another one of my named instances (c) said it was on trial version.
I tried activating the license again (c), and a few minutes later, a different instance (d) lost it's license.
How can I get these instances to share a SQL Backup license again?
