SQL Server Browser Service status

Is there a best practice we should follow for the SQL Server Browser service as all of our SQL instances all have this as a medium alert:
Service: SQL Server Browser Service Startup type: Disabled SQL SERVER BROWSER SERVICE STATUS Raised when the status of the SQL Server Browser Service matches the status you specified when configuring the alert. The SQL Server Browser Service listens for incoming requests for Microsoft SQL Server resources and provides information about SQL Server instances installed on the computer.

Thanks for posting on the Redgate forums.
The SQL Server Browser Service enables remote applications to connect to SQL Server instances. You can read more on this here (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms181087(v=sql.105).aspx).
The alert in question makes sure the service is started so that the database is reachable remotely.Kind regards,
