Adding SQL Server Cluster

Hello,

I have a 3 nodes failover cluster, two nodes host two sql server instances, the 3rd node was added recently to configure Always On Availability Groups (in fact, this 3rd node is in a different datacenter), I had my two instances in SQL Monitor, however something happened and now we are re-configuring SQL Monitor, but now it detects a 3 nodes cluster, however I only have 2 licences available. What can I do, I only want to monitor my two producion servers, I am not interested to monitor the contingency server.

Is there a way to assign licenses only for the nodes I want to monitor?

I'm afraid there isn't, SQL Monitor will detect every node on the cluster and attempt to monitor it. In this instance you'll see it finding the third node and remaining unlicenced.

I have same problem really annoying . We have a node on the other sdie of the firewall we cant even get to with redgate- which is part of the cluster . Redgate should consider changing this.Having to pay money for a license for a server you dont want to monitor is not good
