Hi,
I am using SQL Compare 12.1, and trying to compare databases that both reside on the same Server
SQL Server 2016 CTP 3.2
The error occurs at the "Registering" stage (i.e. almost immediately) ... screenshot of error below
I was unable to find information about this error on this forum.
Hoping it's just a simple configuration problem, unsure where to look.
Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
-Chip

SQL Compare V12.1 supports the SQL Server 2016 RTM versions and later.
SQL Server 2016 CTP 3.2 was first released in December 2015, which is 6 months before the the official release of SQL Compare V12.0.* and SQL Server 2016 RTM.
In March 2016, SQL Compare V11.5.4.891 supported a connect to SQL Server 2016 RC1 and V11.5.2.509 supported a connection to SQL Server 2016 RC0.
Reading release notes for past versions of SQL Compare, Redgate never released a version of SQL Compare that supported SQL Server 2016 CTP 3.2.
The link below is to SQL Compare V11.5.2.509 if you wish to try this older version of SQL Compare. Otherwise I recommend that you upgrade your SQL Server 2016 CTP 3.2 databases to SQL Server 2016 RTM

SQL Server 2016 SP1 is now available and an evaluation version can be obtained, this Microsoft Evaluation Center article has further information:
