DB has an mdf of 27.8GB, and an ldf of 13.6GB

Why does SQB tell me it has processed 33.7GB for a TRANSACTION Log backup?

Could you please post the contents of the SQL Backup log for the backup process that reported those numbers? The default folder where the logs are stored is C:ProgramDataRed GateSQL BackupLog<instance name>, unless you're using Windows 2003 or older OSs, for which the default folder is then 'C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataRed GateSQL BackupLog<instance name>'.

For the life of me I can't find the DB/server combo I did this on.

Will have to find another anomaly one day...

    Anomaly found!

The Log drive is full, so I know it cannot go greater than the current 832GB eaten.

My snapshot of the UI states 956 GB processed thus far.

    A tad perplexing.

Pity I can't attach an obfuscated image...
