ANTS Profiler 4 crashing or hanging up

Whenever we try to profile our app, in certain circumstances our app crashes and upon further inspection it says the crash was in "profilercore". Most of the time ANTS works great and has been very useful but what could be causing this crash? I noticed the "simplify complex stack traces" option...when I switch this off, it no longer crashes but hangs up the profiled app. Any ideas?

Sorry for the problem you are having,

if you could look in the directory:

C:\Documents and Settings\your.name\Local Settings\Application Data\Red Gate\ANTS Performance Profiler 4and send me the log files (stephen.chambers <at> red-gate.com) that would be great.

The complex stack trace option you mentioned is a means to keep the amount of memory down when the same stack trace is being called more than a large number of times. It shouldn't be causing a particular issue in the profiler in terms of causing a crash.

Hopefully the log files will reveal more information.
