more verbose errors?

I'm getting an error (this is from the log)

Synchronizing databases
Error: Error Comparing Scripts/DB vs <server>/<db> : Incorrect syntax near '.'.

when running from the cmd with the /sync flag

How can I get more info as to what is causing this?

can you post the entire command you are using?

It's just running the "sqlcompare.exe -blah -blah -blah" tool

It runs ok, but one of the scripts is causing it to fail and I don't know which one.

Using the /verbose switch does not help either

it's probably some invalid SQL in one of the objects being compared. Can you track down which object it is failing on? You may get a better error message doing this through the UI.

to add to this; if you use the UI you can also turn on the logging facility. This might help to identify the object.

to turn logging on, open the UI, then left-click the SQL Compare logo in the title bar and select 'Enable Logging >> Verbose'
